Supermarkets

Looking for a regular grocery store upon arrival or for a cheap snack before you fly?

Restaurants and cafés

Both terminals and the connecting building between them are full of all kinds of dining options. You can dine in typical Bavarian pubs, fast-food restaurants (McDonald's) and relax in pleasant little cafés.

Most establishments open after 6:00 and close before 22:00. Which snack bars or restaurants have the longest opening hours:

  • Backstube Wünsche: Bavarian bakery, sandwiches, baguettes - Terminal 2, public area, level 3, open 5:00–22:00
  • Brioche Dorée: bakery, café - Terminal 2, public area, Level 4, open 4:00–22:00
  • Dallmayr Bistro: café and bistro - Terminal 2, after security check, gates G-H, open 5:00–21:30
  • dean&david: patisserie and café - terminal 2, after security check, gates G-H, open 5:00–21:00
  • Hofbräu Bistro: pub and bistro - terminal 1, after security check, check-in module D, open 4:00–22:00
  • McDonald's: fast food - Munich Airport Center, public area, open 6:00–24:00
  • Mionetto Bar: café, sandwiches, baguettes - Terminal 1, after security check, check-in module C, open 4:00–21:30
  • Seafood Sylt: fast food with fish specialties - Terminal 2, after security check, gates G-H, open 4:30–21:00
  • Viktualien Stubn: more upscale Bavarian restaurant - Terminal 2, after security check, gates K-L, open 5:00–22:00

Shops

The many restaurants are complemented by a wide range of shopping options. Of course, there are several duty free shops in both terminals, as well as shops selling clothes, travel goods or souvenirs.

For convenience stores, you can find pharmacies at the following locations:

  • Munich Airport Center (public area): 7:30-20:00
  • Terminal 2 (after security, G-H): 7:00-20:00

Luggage storage

You will find the baggage room in Terminal 2 and in the connecting building between the terminals (Munich Airport Center).

  • Munich Airport Center - open 5:00-23:30
  • Terminal 2, public area - open 6:00-22:00

Open 24 hours and the price for overnight storage ranges from 3,30 eur to 8,80 eur depending on the weight of the luggage.

Showers

Showers are available in the central connecting building "Munich Airport Center" on the 3rd floor near the parking office and in Terminal 2 on the 3rd floor near Gates G and H.

The fee for use is 17 eur + 20 eur cash deposit.

ATMs and exchange offices

The classic exchange offices at Munich Airport are operated by Reisebank with unfavourable exchange rates. Use ATMs instead, however, even in this case you will encounter companies with high withdrawal fees.

ATMs are operated by the following companies:

  • Deutsche Bank - free withdrawal
    • Terminal 1, Module E, Level 4 (public area)
    • Terminal 2, G-H check-in, Level 3 (after security check)
  • VR-Bank Erding - withdrawal for 2 eur to 3 eur
    • Munich Airport Center, Level 3
  • Sparkasse - free withdrawal
    • Terminal 2, check-in G-H, Level 3 (public area)
  • Euronet - withdrawal for 4,50 eur and very unfavourable conversion rate in case of card withdrawals in a currency other than euro

Smoke shops

Ventilated smoking rooms are available at several locations after security check.

Observation deck

One stop S-Bahn from the main terminals is the visitor centre ("Besucherpark"), where you can see an exhibition of historic aircraft or climb the man-made hill that serves as a viewing platform. Entrance is 1 eur and the observation deck is open 24/7.
