From the airport, Montpellier city centre can be reached by a combination of bus 620 and tram 1 in around 30 minutes. The combined ticket costs 3 eur.

Public transport - bus

Bus line 620 runs from the airport to Place de l'Europe in the eastern part of the centre.

At Place de l'Europe station, change to tram line 1 towards the historic centre or Saint Roch train station. Tram number 4 also runs through this station.

You can buy your ticket inside the bus (you can also pay with a card) or at the machines at the tram stops on your way to the airport.

The bus journey to Place de l'Europe takes just 15 minutes, with buses running only once an hour: from the airport, always at XX:30 from 8:30am, with the last service at 23:00. In the direction of the city centre, the last bus leaves at XX:00 from 05:00 to 20:00.

Car rental

Montpellier Airport acts as a great starting point for road-trips around southern France.

There are many car rental companies operating at the airport, both well-known and local brands. In the peak summer season, weekly rental rates are around 450 eur, but in the low season from 300 eur.

Car rental counters can be found in a separate building on the left about 20 metres from the arrivals terminal.

Taxi

There are always plenty of official taxis outside the terminal, which always run according to the meter.

The price therefore depends on the traffic and for a 13km ride to the centre you will pay around 30 eur. You can pay with cash or card.

Montpellier also has a mobile app , Uber, which will offer prices to the centre between 23 eur and 25 eur. Car availability is good and you usually won't wait more than 5 minutes.
