Train to London

The quickest and cheapest way to get to London is by train, which departs from Southend Airport station 30 metres from the terminal without a change.

In London, trains terminate at Liverpool Street Station, where you can change to several London Underground lines.

Train or bus to Southend

Southend can be reached in 5 minutes by train (3,90 gbp) or more cheaply by the X30 bus service in 10 minutes (2 gbp).

Train

Trains run to Southend Victoria station once every 20 minutes. The last service from the airport leaves at 1:48, the first service from Southend Victoria station to the airport leaves at 4:00.

Buses 7, 8, 9

You can get to different parts of Southend and the surrounding area on the 7, 8 or 9 bus routes operated by Arriva.

Buses do not go directly to the terminal but stop at the following stops:

  • Routes 7, 8 - stop "Warners Bridge" approximately 400 metres from the terminal
  • Route 9 - stop "Holiday Inn Southend Airport" approx. 450 metres from the terminal

Bus X30

Buses are also available for travel to Southend city centre (Travel Centre and Victoria Station). The frequency is 30-40 minutes in the morning and afternoon. Tickets cost 2 gbp and can be purchased with a contactless card from the driver or via the First Bus app (available on: Google Play / App Store).

The bus stop is not directly in front of the terminal, but about 450 meters south of the airport near the Holiday Inn.

Bus to Stansted Airport

Direct bus service X30 connects Southend Airport with Stansted Airport once an hour throughout the day. Buses run from approximately 4:00am to 12:50am.

The journey between the airports takes 2 hours and also runs to Rayleigh or Chelmsford.

The ticket costs 2 gbp and can be purchased with a contactless card from the driver or (available on: Google Play / App Store).
