Internet and wi-fi

Wi-fi is free and unlimited in all areas of the airport. Connect to the "_Heathrow Wifi" network. In addition, there are erar computers with internet access in each terminal.

Shops and supermarkets

All terminals are equipped with standard supermarkets where you can buy basic food and drink supplies cheaply and quickly.

There are also 19 WHSmith minimarkets at the airport. They operate in all terminals both in the public area and after security. The longest opening hours are 5:00-22:00.

Pharmacies and drugstores are located in all terminals. There is always at least one shop in the public area and in the transit area. Opening hours are usually 5:30-22:00.

Shops of all kinds, from luxury clothing to travel equipment, are located throughout the airport.

McDonald's, Burger King and KFC are not operating at Heathrow.

Luggage storage

Each terminal has a baggage room in the arrivals area, open from 05:00-23:00. For overnight drop-off, pay 15 gbp.

ATMs and currency exchange offices

The Currency Exchange at the airport is operated by Currency Exchange Travelex with very unfavourable rates. Use the ATMs located in all terminals.

Drinking water

There are more than 100 drinking fountains located throughout the airport from which you can fill your own bottle with free cold water.

Showers

Showers are only available in premium lounges for airline frequent flyer card holders or business and first class passengers.

However, selected lounges allow access to and use of showers for a fee.

Smoking rooms

Smoking areas are designated in the outdoor areas outside the terminals only. If you are changing planes, there is no option to legally smoke in the airport unless you want to go through passport and security control and walk out of the terminal.
