Hotels and sleeping at Lisbon Airport

Lisbon

Lisbon is a well-known connecting airport, where you will often have to spend long overnight layovers, and airline schedules are often set for very early morning departures around 6am.

TAP, which used to offer free hotels on connecting flights, no longer operates this service.

Hotels in the centre

The city centre isn't far from the airport and if Lisbon is your destination, you'll always be within 45 minutes of your hotel.

Overnight in the terminal

The airport (Terminal 1) is open 24/7, both the public area and the transit area.

Overnight stays inside the airport are not a problem, but there may be random police checks to ensure that you are indeed a ticket holder and not using the airport for long term overnight stays.

The most comfortable place to spend the night is around the Burger King restaurant, where there are comfortable seats and this part of the terminal is the quietest after hours.
