The fastest way to get to the city centre from the airport is by train, and cheaper by public transport.

Train SKA1 to Krakow city centre

The most convenient transport from the airport to Krakow is by rail, on which the SKA1 city line runs.

The station is located just outside the terminal on the arrivals level. The journey from the arrivals hall takes no more than 2 minutes and is clearly signposted.

The journey between the airport and Kraków Główny Station takes 17 minutes. Trains run approximately every 30 minutes from 4am to midnight (see timetable).

Tickets to the centre of Krakow for 17 pln You can buy them at the vending machines on the platform and in the terminal, where you can pay by card. You can also buy a ticket online at malopolskiekoleje.pl. Tickets for buses and trams (see below) are not valid for the train.

A ticket from the airport to Wieliczka costs 21 pln.

About every 3rd connection continues from Krakow to the Wieliczka salt mines.

Bus to Krakow city centre

A cheaper alternative is the city bus lines, which with stops along the way, go to the western edge of the city centre in about 45 minutes.

One ticket valid for 60 minutes costs 6 pln. You can buy a ticket for 90 minutes for 8 pln.

There is a 48-hour ticket for 35 pln or a 72-hour ticket for 50 pln, which are also valid for the journey to the airport. However, the 24-hour ticket is divided into Zone I, which does not apply to the airport. To get to the airport you have to buy a 24-hour ticket valid for zones I+II+II for 22 pln.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket machines at the bus stops, where you can also pay by card. On the bus, you "click" your ticket in the ticket marker after boarding, you only need to mark it once on the first ride (no second marking for transfers).

At night, the 902 bus (see timetable) runs every hour.

Taxi

Taxis at the airport are operated by a single and official operator. Prices are given across the board according to distance and the city centre is available on average for 90 pln.

Flixbus buses

Flixbus long-distance buses also stop directly at the airport, running non-stop to Polish, Czech and Slovak cities.
