Gdansk International Airport is named after Polish President Lech Wałęsa, whose signature "W" has been adopted as the airport's logo and can be seen on arrival at the terminal.
The airport is located in the area known as the Tri-City, close to the cities of Gdańsk (12 km), Sopot (10 km) and Gdynia (23 km).
