Transfer at Brunei Airport

Bandar Seri Begawan

Brunei International Airport has only one terminal common to all flights.

There is an arrivals area on the ground floor and security check-in desks on the first floor.

The airport is modern and relatively well serviced for its size. Signage is clear.

Security and immigration checks

On average, you will spend 15-30 minutes in the immigration queue upon arrival.

The interview with the immigration officer is brief and usually involves only questions about the length and purpose of your stay. You will be fingerprinted during the immigration check.

The pre-departure security check is very efficient and you will rarely spend more than 5 minutes in line.

Transfer between flights

Brunei Airport is one of the very pleasant transfer points. Thanks to Royal Brunei Airlines, you can transfer between flights from London and Dubai to Australia and destinations in South East Asia, for example.

When you get off the plane, follow the "Transfer" signs to the security checkpoint. You will then go straight through to the departure gates.

Queues for transit security can reach up to 30 minutes, however they are very well organised by staff and if you have a tight transfer you will be sent to the priority queue.

Connection distances are short and if you have both flights on the same booking, your luggage will be automatically rebooked.

You will not go through immigration at the time of transfer.

Hotels in the terminal

Directly in the transit area during long layovers, you can use small private cubicles with access to shared shower and toilet facilities.

You can conveniently book a room in the Nest Dayroom, for example, via booking.com.

Hotels near the airport

There are two hotels near the terminal, such as the well-rated Qing Yun Rest House Koprijaya ***. However, the hotel does not offer an airport shuttle from the terminal to the hotel and there is no pavement along the road.

In Brunei, taxis or the mobile ride-sharing app DART operate 24 hours a day, so you can easily pick a hotel right in the city centre.

Some of the most popular accommodations include The Brunei Hotel *** right in the center.
