Berlin Brandenburg in a nutshell

Reichstag dome

The new Berlin Airport was created by expanding the original Schönefeld Airport about 18 km southeast of Berlin city centre. Named after Chancellor Willy Brandt, the airport also uses the commercial name "Berlin-Brandenburg".

After a long delay of more than 9 years, it was opened on 31.10.2020, at the same time as the two existing Berlin airports Schönefeld and Tegel ceased to exist.

Berlin-Brandenburg is currently the only operational airport in Berlin.
