Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in a nutshell

Atlanta

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, located 11 km south of Atlanta, has continuously ranked as the world's largest airport by passenger traffic since 1998. In 2015, Atlanta became the first airport in history to handle more than 100 million passengers in a single year.

Although Atlanta is a rather provincial city by American standards, it is ideally located for connecting flights across the US. In fact, more than 70% of the US population has Atlanta within a 2-hour flight of their home. Delta Airlines, the world's second largest airline, is headquartered here and handles the vast majority of local traffic.

Atlanta Airport has a total of 5 runways and scheduled flights to more than 220 destinations. Most of the traffic is domestic on routes within the USA, but direct flights go to many destinations in Latin America, Europe and also to Africa and Asia.
