Schiphol Airport has a high number of transfer passengers, with many transfers involving long overnight waiting times. Airlines no longer cover hotels as part of the ticket.
Also, a large number of flights depart very early in the morning. In both cases, ideally book a hotel close to the terminal.
Hotels in the terminal
In the passenger-only transit area (behind security) you will find the YOTELAIR Transit Hotel. The advantage is that you don't have to leave the airport building at all, the disadvantages are the mini-rooms (more like cubicles) and the high prices from 200 eur per night.
Hotels within walking distance
Within a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal, you will find classic premium hotels right on the airport grounds with prices between 190 eur and 230 eur per night in a 2-bed room.
- Sheraton 4* - 3 minutes walk from the terminal
- citizenM 4* - 5 minutes walk from the terminal
- Hilton 4* - 7 minutes walk from the terminal
Cheap hotels nearby (free transport)
In the nearby town of Hoofddorp you will then find dozens of other hotels of local and international brands. Prices for the cheapest ones start from 100 eur to 150 eur. We select hotels with free private airport transfers.
- Bastion Hotel 4* - 5 minutes away, cheapest hotel close to the airport
- Best Western Plus 4* - 5 minutes away
- Ibis Schiphol 3* - 10 minutes away, a convenient hotel also for travelling to Amsterdam city centre, as the 397 express bus stops right in front of it
The stop for all hotel buses is located directly in front of the terminal and is marked with the number A9-13.
Hotels in the centre near the train stations
If you want to stay in the centre of Amsterdam, but at the same time near the train station to the airport, we would recommend these hotels:
- At Centraal Station -A-Train Hotel 3* (one of the few in the centre with prices well below 183 eur per night)
- At Sloterdijk Station - MEININGER Hotel 3*
