Qatar Airways baggage

Qatar Airways A320

Qatar Airways always includes complimentary carry-on and checked baggage in the price of your ticket. See below to find out what the limits and restrictions are.

Carry-on baggage

Each passenger is allowed to bring a total of 2 pieces of hand luggage on board - one large hand luggage and one smaller suitcase or handbag as a personal bag. The dimensions and maximum weight of hand luggage are as follows:

  • 50 x 37 x 25 cm and 7 kg

Business or First Class passengers may take two such bags weighing a total of 15 kg. If you have purchased tickets in Brazil, the weight of the baggage is set at 10 kg.

The dimensions of the second smaller hand luggage are not specified. Usually this is a bag with dimensions of approximately 40 x 30 x 20 cm.

Checked baggage

Checked baggage is also always transported free of charge. The only difference is the maximum number of kilograms that can be checked in, as follows:

  • Economy class - 25 kg
  • Business class - 40 kg
  • First Class - 50 kg

It does not matter how many suitcases you check. The above weight is the aggregate limit for all baggage. So you can check in one bag or 5 bags. However, together they must not weigh more than the weight shown on your ticket.

On the other hand, for flights to North America or Africa, the piece concept is used. The ticket price includes 2 pieces of luggage of 23 kg each as standard.

Checked baggage dimensions are a maximum of 158 cm (sum of height, length and width).

If you are overweight, a fee of approx. 40 usd per 1 kg over the permitted limit is payable.

Strollers for children

Baby strollers are checked in free of charge for all children who require one.

Children up to 2 years old are entitled to carry 1 piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 23 kg. Children travelling on a child fare have the same baggage allowance as adults.
