Hand luggage

How much cabin baggage can you get for free on the lowest LowFare fare? You can only take on board a small piece of luggage measuring 38 x 30 x 20 cm for free.

You can buy a larger carry-on bag measuring 55 x 40 x 23 cm for between 10 eur and 20 eur, depending on the length of the route. The total weight must not exceed 10 kg. By adding a larger cabin bag, you also receive Priority Boarding.

Two carry-on bags of 55 x 40 x 23 cm and 38 x 30 x 30 cm are automatically included if you purchase the more expensive LowFare+ or Flex fares.

If you only need a second extra hand luggage with your ticket and do not need to travel with a large checked bag, it is always preferable to purchase the lowest LowFare fare and then add a second hand luggage in the second step of the booking process. This will be cheaper than buying the LowFare +

For all fares, an extra small plastic bag from the airport shops is allowed free of charge.

Checked baggage

Checked baggage is only included in the price of the higher LowFare+ and Flex fares and must weigh up to 23 kg.

Adding checked baggage to a LowFare fare costs from 20 eur to 40 eur depending on the specific route.

If you only need a checked bag and only need one small carry-on, purchase the lowest LowFare fare and add a checked bag to that in the second step.

However, if you want to travel with a checked bag and 2 carry-ons, and possibly still book a specific window seat, it will always be cheaper to buy the LowFare+ fare straight away.

Luggage for children

Norwegian's baggage policy for children is pretty strict. Children under 2 years old who sit on your lap are not allowed any luggage of their own. However, a small bag with baby food is tolerated free of charge (size is not specified, but the bag should be no larger than an average small women's handbag).

For children aged 2 years and over, the normal conditions of the purchased fare apply.

The pushchair and booster seat can always be carried free of charge as checked baggage for all children up to 11 years of age.

You can take the pushchair through security and to the aircraft, where the attendant will place it in the aircraft baggage compartment. It will be issued to you again as soon as you leave the aircraft, not at the baggage belt.

Other luggage

The airline only carries cats and dogs for a fee of €38 to €65, and only on flights within the Schengen area.

Sports equipment (skis, bikes, golf clubs) can be carried for a fee of around €35, it is always cheaper to book online.
