Hötorgshallen

A particularly popular place for tourists and Stockholmers alike is the market hall right in the centre called Hötorgshallen.

Choose a hotel in central Stockholm

Stop here to soak up some authentic Swedish cuisine. You won't find many opportunities like this in Stockholm, as typical Swedish restaurants are at a minimum in the city.

Taste the local specialties

Hötorgshallen is mainly about food.

Downstairs and in the basement you'll find absolutely great restaurants, bistros and small takeaway stands.

Try the great Swedish skagen sandwiches or the fish delicacies.

Prepare for crowds, but there's always a free spot somewhere for a great lunch or snack.

You can pay by card everywhere without any problem.

For a full meal, you'll pay around 170 sek.

Admission and opening hours

Hötorgshallen is a regular market, so there is no entrance fee.

It is open from Monday to Saturday. It remains closed on Sundays.

  • Monday to Thursday: 10:00-19:00
  • Friday: 10:00-20:00
  • Saturday: 10:00-17:00

The lower floor with fresh fish shops, several fish restaurants and bistros always closes an hour earlier. On the upper floor you will find more expensive restaurants.
