Globe is a multi-purpose arena and the home stadium of the Swedish national ice hockey team in Globen City. Apart from sports enthusiasts, it should be seen by architecture fans as it is the largest hemispherical structure in the world.

Architecture and size

The Globen sports hall catches the eye at first sight with its unusual architecture reminiscent of the Earth.

The Globen opened in 1989 and from then until today has been the largest semi-circular structure in the world.

The dome has a diameter of 110 metres and a total height of 86 metres.

Skyview.

The Skyview attraction offers a unique experience. Two circular glass capsules, similar to those of the London Eye, travel along the roof of the Globen Arena.

You get a very unusual view of the interesting structure of the building and a wide view of southern Stockholm. The ride up and down takes about 17 minutes in total.

The attraction is open daily, opening hours vary according to the season.
