Punta Mujeres

Puna Mujeres

The small fishing village of Punta Mujeres, in the north of the island, attracts tourists with its jagged lava coastline, which creates sea pools in its many mini coves.

These spill over the natural lava sills in various ways, offering the chance to swim in pools of calm water with a view of the rough sea just a few metres away.

Some of the pools have also been landscaped with artificial dams and staircases to make access to the water easier and safer.

Feel free to swim in Punta Mujeres at about 8 different spots along the entire length of the 2km long lava coastline.

How to get there

The town lies directly on the main road LZ-1 connecting the capital Arrecife (25 km) with the north of the island. Nearby you will also find the volcanic caves of Jameos del Agua. Parking is free on the central seaside promenade.

Punta Mujeres can also be reached up to 5 times a day by bus line 9, which takes you to Teguise, Arrecife, Orzola and Jameos del Agua, to name a few.
