The observation deck, named after a Portuguese writer named Raul Brandão, provides breathtaking views of the village, the steep cliffs and the wide Atlantic Ocean with the Monchique Islet, the westernmost piece of Europe.

Miradouro Raul Brandão is easy to reach by car, as an asphalt byway passes right by the observation deck and takes you to the centre of Faja Grande in 2 minutes, as well as the other side towards Poco do Ribeira do Ferreiro.
