Alagoa Bay is a popular stop on foot and by car along the northeast coast of Flores.

The deep wooded valley empties into the sea at the rocky cliffs where a beach with large volcanic rocks is formed. Baía de Alagoa is particularly popular for the pointed rock formations rising from the sea surface to a height of about 15 metres.

Prices and availability of accommodation in Flores

The beach is definitely not suitable for swimming, as access to the sea is virtually impossible due to large boulders and strong sea currents.

There are camping facilities built above the beach with toilets, showers and a patch of always mown grass.

How to get there

Baía de Alagoa is reached by an asphalt road that turns off the main road between Fazenda de Santa Cruz and Cedros. At the end there is a small car park for about 5 cars, which is always free.

Baía de Alagoa is also on the GR01FLO marked walking trail, which runs along the entire east coast of Flores.
