Polychrono

Polychrono

Polcyhrono (sometimes also spelled Polichrono) is one of the quietest beach destinations on the Kassandra peninsula. While it's as similar as an egg to the other resorts on the eastern coast of this promontory, that doesn't detract from its beachside cool and charm as a small but lively Greek resort.

Polychrono itself welcomes you with a long promenade along the beach with many tavernas, restaurants and bars. The town centre is more modern but rural in character with only small houses, many apartments, hotels and shops selling beach equipment, souvenirs or food.

Polichrono is one of the quieter, yet largest resorts in Halkidiki.

Beaches and swimming

A beach stretches along the entire coastline of the town for about 3 km, which flows freely into the tiny resort of Kassandra Palas to the south, and the town of Chaniotis to the east.

The beach in the centre is quite narrow and can accommodate a maximum of 2 rows of sunbeds, but outside the centre it widens into very quiet areas with nice surroundings. The local beach is covered by coarser sand with small pebbles, but it is not particularly unpleasant to walk on.

The entrance to the sea is very gradual and the water level is extremely calm most of the year thanks to the sheltered bay between the headlands of Kassandra and Sithonia.

The entire beach is lined with tavernas and shops, as well as many stalls offering water activities.

Accommodation in Polichrono

The resort is slightly below average in price compared to others in Chalidiki and a night in a 2-bed room here in the middle of summer can be had from around 73 eur, for example in a well rated Summer Beach Hotel ** right on the beach.

Of the cheaper and apartments and studios we would recommend the fantastically rated aparthotel Mourge studios with modern apartments right on the beach.

How to get to Polychrono?
