Thecapital Salu is located in the middle of the island near the only airport. The destination of your trip, if you have a rental car on Salu, will probably not be this place full of dilapidated houses, cables and wires, but since all the roads run alongside, stop here, at least for a local viewpoint.

You'll recognize the authentic unadorned dwellings of the locals, with at least one house on every street adorned with a graffiti facade.

Drive up to the viewpoint and look around the island. Espargos is home to the Monte Curral mountain on which the military radar is located and the entire mountain, or rather hill, is under NATO administration. You cannot miss it.
