The entire coastline of the resort is lined with over 8 km long beach, which could be divided into three parts.

The main beach is the part that immediately touches the town and runs along the promenade with hotels, shops and attractions. This main beach is about 4.5 km long and ends at the resort of Sveti Vlas in the north.

Beach facilities

The main beach in Sunny Beach is one of the typical city beaches. Unlike the town itself, which is not very organised, the beach is very well maintained and very spacious.

The width of the beach of up to 75 metres provides plenty of space for everyone.

The entrance to the water is very gradual and safe with fine sand without stones. The shallow water is still about 100 meters from the shore and the beach is ideal for families with small children.

Sun loungers and umbrellas

Sunbeds and parasols are available along the entire length of the beach and can be rented for 10 bgn / piece / day. So for a set of two sunbeds and a parasol you will pay 30 bgn.

There are always plenty of sunbeds available, even in high season. Just take any available sun lounger and the staff will look for you. Payment is in cash only.

The staff is present from 8:00 to 18:00, but the sun loungers remain free to use all night from 18:00 to 8:00.

Free Sectors

Every 150 metres or so between the sectors with sunbed hire, a free section of beach is left for those who do not wish to hire a sunbed or umbrella.

These sectors are easy to recognize by the signs and the fact that they are usually where the lifeguards' watchtowers are located.

Toilets and showers

There are no public toilets on the beach, but you can use the toilets in the restaurants, some of which make them available even if you don't order anything from the restaurant.

Freshwater showers are usually not available, especially since most hotels are within a 10-minute walk of the beach.

Restaurants and shops

Throughout you'll find mostly more expensive bistros, restaurants or bars right on the beach.

The pedestrian promenade along the beach has a large number of shops selling beach equipment or souvenirs. You will also find many mainstream supermarkets or fast-food outlets within a 5-minute walk of the beach.

Water sports

The main beach is the centre of water sports on Sunny Beach. Here you will find several sites run by a single company, so the prices and types of fun are the same everywhere on the beach.

The most popular are definitely parasailing or renting jet skis.

• Hotel Venus *** - very nice small hotel 70 metres from the beach right in the centre of town
• Hotel Residence Dune ***** - the most luxurious hotel in town is surrounded by the beach, has its own sunbeds and umbrellas free of charge for guests and the sea is only 20 metres from the reception
